Knitting for the coming baby boom of friends and family

Everyone that’s having babies in my life right now is having a boy! So I’m having fun making baby things this early summer! Then I will start on my holiday dishcloths for family and friends. First I made this adorable sweater using a pattern I bought from designer Carina Spencer.

Now I’m working on adorable sun hats designed by Kristi Pyatt from her blog: http://treefrogknits.blogspot.com/2010/04/sun-hat.html. I think I’ll made a few using half skeins of Cotton Fleece from Brown Sheep left over from other projects. Perfect for cool summers!

Mother’s Day 20012

The morning started the same as every year. Porter gives me a sweet gift and I remind him “I’m not your mother, you don’t need to do anything for me!” I finished these treats off before the day was over!Image

Jules cooked us a killer breakfast and we all had a delightful visit!

Spring: Light weight DK Hat (Yin Yarn)

Started with one skein of DK weight wool, silk, bamboo blend yarn!

Worked outside on a beautiful spring day. Completed the “Odessa Hat” (free download on Ravelry). Beautiful light weight but warm.

Last Finished Project of 2011!

I have started to spin with a drop spindle and decided to follow through and finish my second spinning project before 2012.

After spinning 6 ounces of corriedale roving, I found a hat pattern to knit with # 10 needles, since my yarn is bulky weight.

Add a local ceramic button and I’m done!

I finished it in time for a New Year’s party! I’m ready to start my next spinning project using Blue-faced leichester roving in variegated colors.

Celebrating

This year Chanukah is close to Christmas, so they overlap a little. It means to me to weave the celebrating together and enjoy winter holidays!

The Menorah shares a table with Buddha

Porter decorates the tree. It requires a tall person because the tree is on a table. Its a sweet tree.

Nice Job Porter!

The Green House

Green in Process

My husband Porter has taken on painting our house. It was 10 times harder than he thought it would be, but he’s getting close to finishing it! I choice the color , which I really love!

These are pictures of both sides of the house

Thats Porter up there in alcove.

The color goes with everything from berries to pumpkins!
